Chapter History

In continuation of Zeta’s strong commitment to serving the Dallas/Fort Worth area, a group of 11 Finer Women took their community commitment and their sisterly love to new levels – officially chartering the Delta Alpha Alpha Zeta chapter (DAAZ) on January 17, 2021.

Their efforts began much earlier.

In 2020, as Zeta was well into celebrating its Centennial, the world became engulfed in a deadly pandemic and a global movement for racial justice. Financial turmoil placed a stranglehold on communities. In Collin County, the nation’s fastest-growing county, food and medical resources were in short supply. A “zeal to serve” engulfed the hearts of these women, and in May 2020, they vowed to make a greater impact in the communities in which they reside.
The charter members of DAAZ began serving the most vulnerable citizens in Collin County, supporting Zeta’s International programs like the Elder Care Initiative by providing needed items to senior homes. They also vowed to continue their service through educational programming, community outreach, assistance to victims of domestic violence, and political awareness initiatives.

The chapter focuses on establishing inclusive, diverse, and long-lasting relationships in the community with citizens, organizations, city officials, and professionals in Collin County. Amid a global pandemic and national divisiveness, the Finer Women of DAAZ continue to work like a fine-tuned unit and exemplify the change they want to see in the unity of sisterhood, servitude, and community.

DAAZ’s expanded efforts mainly involve the cities of Frisco, Fairview, Plano, Prosper, and Allen.
